1. NANOPARTÍCULAS FUNCIONALIZADAS PARA BIO-APLICAÇÕES E TRATAMENTO DE ÁGUA

 

TRATAMENTO DE ÁGUA - Novas estratégias para modificação racional da superfície de nanopartículas magnéticas com polímeros extraídos de fontes renováveis. O objetivo final é o desenvolvimento de nano-adsorventes ecológicos de baixo custo e alto desempenho para a adsorção de poluentes orgânicos emergentes da água. Estudo dos fenómenos associados às interfaces. Compreensão dos mecanismos de adsorção.

2. NANOCOMPÓSITOS FUNCIONAIS DE BASE POLIMÉRICA

Os bionanocompósitos funcionais combinam as funcionalidades intrínsecas das nanopartículas inorgânicas e das biointerfaces dos biopolímeros. São materiais com propriedades de resposta únicas de interesse para aplicações biomédicas, alimentares e ambientais. As propriedades dos bionanocompósitos dependem da natureza química dos componentes orgânicos e inorgânicos, mas também da interação e sinergia estabelecida entre os componentes, aspetos fundamentais que são estudados nesta linha de investigação.
