Terbium(III) complexes of 2-aminonicotinic, thiosalicylic and anthranilic acids: synthesis and photoluminescence properties

New complexes of Th(III) with 2-aminonicotinic (Hanic), thiosalicylic (Htsal) and anthranilic (Hant) acids, with the molecular formula [Tb(anic)(3)]center dot 0.5Hanic center dot 7H(2)O (1), [Tb(tsal)(3)]center dot 5H(2)O (2) and [Tb(ant)(3)]center dot 2H(2)O (3), were synthesized and characterized by vibrational spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Photoluminescence measurements were performed for all the terbium complexes which are room temperature emitters. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
