Structural and magnetic properties of thin films of BaFeO3-delta deposited by pulsed injection metal-organic chemical vapor deposition

abstract

Thin films of BaFeO3-delta have been deposited by pulsed injection metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. The films adopt a pseudocubic structure as a result of the match with the cubic structure of the SrTiO3 substrate and the accommodation of a high density of oxygen vacancies. They display antiferromagnetic behavior at room temperature and high electrical resistance. Furthermore, we observed an ageing effect that may be recovered to some extent by annealing in oxygen atmosphere. (C) 2012 American Institute of Physics. [http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.4729269]
